Associate Director, Learning and Client Engagement

  • I have the opportunity to provide leadership for all 32 employees in our Learning and Client Engagement department. This group includes instructional designers, instructional writers, multimedia developers, and client engagement managers. I work with our director to create and implement our ongoing department strategy and support the group with day-to-day needs, long-term goal setting, performance improvement, and professional development. Prior to my current role as Associate Director, my management duties focused on onboarding a total of 29 instructional designers, instructional writers, and multimedia developers over the course of four and a half years.

Project and Client Management at Breakaway Adoption Solutions

  • Instructional Designer, Learning and Development Consultant
Senior Instructional Designer, Learning and Development Consultant
    Training Manager and Project Architect
Associate Director, Learning and Client Engagement

  • In addition to curriculum design and development, I managed client relationships and projects as an instructional designer and senior instructional designer. I was responsible for tracking key project data, allocating tasks to my project team, and ensuring the timely completion of learning development. Throughout this process, I was also a main point of contact for the client teams with which I worked.

As my focus moved from external client work to internal initiatives, my work shifted to creating plans, gathering resources, and ensuring continuous project progress. I still work with our clients as an associate director and provide high-level support to our clients and client projects. I also serve as an internal and external point of escalation for our department.

  • Instructional Designer, Learning and Development Consultant

  • This is a recreation of a social media strategy proposal aimed at increasing Breakaway Adoption Solutions’ presence on YouTube. I created the original version of this proposal with the other member of our social media team. We developed a three-pronged approach to engagement that provides more visibility for the company and leverages existing assets to get the initiative off the ground fast.

Social Media Strategy Proposal for Breakaway Adoption Solutions

  • Instructional Designer, Learning and Development Consultant

  • Our department struggled to balance the workload between team members and figure out an efficient way to get people help during sudden influxes of work. One of our directors asked us to think of ways we could solve this issue, so I came to them with the idea to use a modified kanban board. I created a living document/board that allows people to post and take available project tasks as needed. Sharing work in this way alleviates pressure for those with an unexpected uptick in assignments while allowing those with free time to keep busy and support their fellow team members. We dubbed this the Grab Board and are still using it to help with the ebb and flow of projects.
